Privacy Policy

Effective October 30th, 2017. Last revised April 19th, 2022.

We want you to understand how SongShift, LLC ("we", "our", "us") collects and uses information about you when you use our websites, mobile apps, and other online products and services (collectively, the "Service", "Application", or "SongShift"). This Privacy Policy governs your use of all of our Services and communications.

Frankly, we believe the less we know about you, the better; that is why we aim to limit the information we collect to the minimum necessary.

What personal information is shared with us or anyone else?

When using SongShift, we directly collect anonymized information about specific app actions such as Shift creation details, Shift completion details, purchase information, and SongShare usage. This information helps us improve by providing insight into where hiccups occur and highlighting areas for improvement. The data we collect does not include any device-specific information and is limited in scope to only the minimum we need.

Some parts of the Service use the Subscription purchase receipt to validate the legitimacy of the Subscription. Validating your Subscription is the sole use of this information. It is not stored nor shared with anyone else.

When signing into music services, your username and password are exchanged for access tokens which are then used to access the music service. In the event a music service does not support access tokens, your username and password are securely stored locally on your device Keychain. The Keychain is a secure part of iOS/macOS and is responsible for securely storing your login information.

Using SongShift allows us to read your media library from your connected music service accounts. We read the contents of your library and do the task we've promised; transfer your music with ease. We do not store any of your data on external servers except the QuickMatching service, which keeps your match results for a short period needed for the app to receive a results notification and subsequently download the results and delete the server version.

How do we collect data?

We developed our own analytics software with privacy in mind. We collect the least amount of information as we can to make necessary changes. All while protecting your privacy by not collecting any information about you or your music content.

We do not use any third-party analytics software, nor do we use any third-party ad platforms. We aim to limit data collection. Handling collection using our in-house analytics service allows us to maintain minimal collection standards and ensure all data is kept safe without being resold or shared with anyone.

What other data is shared with us?

When reaching out to us through the apps Feedback and Support ticket system, we receive and store ticket data for service use.

Will you ever sell my data?

NO. We are a big believer in respecting the privacy of user data. We will not accept payment in exchange for your data, anonymized or not.
